I have been drawing, painting or doing some aspect of art most of my life. I discovered drawing in my teens and continue it to this day. I have also painted in oils, acrylic and watercolors. I struggled with painting, never happy with the color, composition and even my ability to capture anything near what I wanted. In the nineties, I took a life sculpture class and it changed my perceptions. I could more easily work in 3 dimensions, and bring my ideas into being.
In 2003 I inherited a small Craftsman lathe and began playing with it. I loved the facility of it, how I could easily and quickly define a shape. For the next 15 years turning was my addiction, and I stayed with it. The past few years I have started carving, pyro-engraving and coloring turned items. I am still addicted…
